About Us

Troop 31 is chartered by the Vincentown United Methodist Church. Our regular meetings are held on Monday nights at 7:15. During the school year we meet at Southampton Township School #2 in the cafegymatoruim and during the summer we meet in the social room at the Methodist Church on Main Street of Vincentown, NJ.

OK, that was pretty simplistic. We tend to move around between these locations. Contact Us and we'll tell you how to catch up with us.

We are a very active Troop. We meet year round and camp 11 months out of twelve including attending a Summer Camp. This schedule is supplemented with at least one backpacking/canoeing trip in there somewhere. Our Patrol Leaders Council plans our schedule in six month blocks and has to make the tough decisions on where go. Our biggest problem is we have more program than we have time.

We have between 20 to 30 scouts and tend to produce one to two Eagle Scouts a year. Our philosophy is to produce leaders; all of our Scouts are special and our Eagle Scouts are a bonus.

We have two major long term projects as a Troop. The first is the Troop 31 Car Show, which has been held the Saturday before Mother's Day for the last ten years. This is our only fundraiser for the year and one of the largest community events in our area. The second is the Eagle Walk. The Eagle Walk is a nature trail, built on property graciously provided to us by our local Government and maintained by Troop 31 for the use and enjoyment of the community of Vincentown and Southampton Township.

Thanks for the visit and hope to see you soon.
